Introduction:

Second Generation, LLC dba RSA Insurance is an independent insurance agency that works with its customers and various insurance carriers to provide primarily property and casualty insurance tailored to customer needs. RSA Insurance serves the Mobile, Alabama metropolitan area and surrounding communities. To be able to find the best fit for its customers and get the best offerings from its carrier partners, quotes for insurance coverage and associated rates require obtaining relevant information on the customer and insured items. The following paragraphs provide information on what data is necessary from potential customers and how that data is used to provide the best possible service.

Types of Information Collected:

To quote insurance for individuals or businesses, personal contact information is first collected. At a minimum, this information includes the full name of the proposed insured(s) and/or the responsible party for the business, address of the insured party, telephone numbers, email addresses, date of birth, and in some cases social security number. Names and contact information for other contacts may also be provided by the customer if desired.

Information specific to insured items will also be collected. The type of item to be insured (e.g. dwelling, business, automobile) and details on the item are necessary to provide a quote and maintain coverage. RSA Insurance uses templates relative to its different lines of business to help obtain as much detail as possible and secure optimal quotes for its customers. These templates include information such as type of business, type of home, make and model of vehicle, age of insured items, location of insured items, specific features of items, etc. The more details that can be provided by the customer will allow RSA Insurance to obtain a better and often faster quote from an insurance carrier. RSA Insurance is happy to share what information will be necessary to secure a quote before collecting any information from a potential customer.

Should additional information be required by an insurance carrier before a policy can be written for the customer, or to continue an existing policy, the customer will be contacted by the carrier or RSA Insurance. Depending on the carrier and data required, writing new or continuing existing insurance coverage may be dependent on the customer providing additional details relative to the insured person or property. All information provided is up to the customer, but customer information consistent with industry and carrier standards is necessary to obtain or maintain insurance coverage.

Method of Information Collection:

Customer data may be obtained in a number of ways and is determined by the customer. A customer may contact RSA Insurance by telephone at (251) 633-0674, by fax at (251) 633-9741, through email at contact@rsainsurance.net, by text at (251) 633-0674, through the agency’s web site at www.rsainsurance.net, or by visiting the RSA Insurance office located at 1500 Schillinger Road South in Mobile, AL 36695. Data necessary to serve the customer may be collected through the same channel the customer used to contact RSA Insurance or through one of the other channels of communication selected by the customer.

Purpose of Data Collection:

Industry and specific insurance carrier standards determine the necessary information required to provide and continue insurance coverage. RSA Insurance will endeavor to obtain the personal and property information necessary to obtain a quote from an insurance carrier that best meets the needs of the potential customer and that provides optimal service to customers with existing policies. Your contacting RSA Insurance to act as an independent insurance agency on your behalf indicates your acceptance that RSA Insurance will require a certain amount of information from you and that you approve of RSA Insurance contacting you in reply to your request.

Information provided by the customer may be used to conduct standard background and credit checks required by insurance carriers before quoting or granting insurance coverage. Insurance claims history, lapses in insurance coverage, and credit risk are considered by carriers in writing new business and in determining premium calculations.

Contact information may also be used by RSA Insurance to survey new and existing customers about the service they received and whether the agency may provide any additional services. The customer will be provided with the option not to receive these types of communication in the future and may contact the agency at any time to opt out of these surveys.

Data Security Measures:

Data is kept according to industry standards and state requirements. All paper documentation is kept behind two locked access points. All electronic documentation is housed in the RSA Insurance cloud-based agency management system (AMS) in accordance with online security protocols. The AMS used by RSA Insurance is an industry leading system used by many independent insurance agencies and recognized and utilized for secure data sharing by hundreds of leading insurance carriers. In compliance with State of Alabama regulations, all records pertaining to agency insurance transactions are maintained at RSA Insurance for a minimum of three years and are available for customer review upon request during normal business hours.

Data Sharing:

As expressed in the preceding paragraphs, all data obtained by RSA Insurance is necessary for identifying, obtaining, and maintaining insurance coverage at the request of the customer. Data is used to acquire and service insurance policies, including surveying customers on their satisfaction with service efforts by RSA Insurance. At no time is customer information shared or sold to third parties. All data is used expressly for the conduct of business between the customer and RSA Insurance.

Where text messaging is concerned, if you consent to communicate via SMS through our RingCentral VOIP telephone service, we do not pass any individual's consent to any third party. Furthermore, you may contact RSA Insurance any time through any communication channel to ask that you not be contacted via text messaging. RSA Insurance will tag your record in its AMS and exclude you from any future SMS.

The information you provide to RSA Insurance is at your discretion. As noted, the level of detail provided may impact the level of insurance coverage received and the price of this coverage. Once information is provided to RSA Insurance for the purpose of obtaining an insurance quote or for servicing an insurance policy, it will be kept by RSA Insurance for a minimum of three years according to state regulation. During this time, you have the right to review and amend any information relevant to your policy during normal business hours.
